How do I compose the four Chevening essays?

Leadership and Influence, Essay 1

My leadership path began when I was 15 years old. I was learning, teaching, and volunteering at Mogadishu’s Yaqshid Village Council. It was the warlord’s reign, and education was not prioritized. I began working and taking part in extracurricular activities. I occasionally led volunteer and event teams at the social center. It was warlord’s time, and education for women, children, and orphans was poor. I was one of the volunteers responsible for properly instructing girls, impoverished children, and orphans. In some of the committees, I was the team leader, and I was in charge of the following things.

Example:

-I taught computer, English, Arabic and other subjects for free this center,

-I was teaching girls, poor children and orphans correctly.

-I was organizing debates events for the centers debate club.

– I was organizing other social events.

This social center provided me with free training and assisted me and my family in obtaining. My family supported me because this center was providing free assistance to everyone and myself. This facility taught me how to carry on the legacy and give back to my people by providing social services, free education, and literacy.

My ambition was to help the next generation by promoting youth empowerment, women empowerment, literacy, and public awareness. Currently, I work as a social worker, encouraging Somali youth to work and study freely, assisting Somali youth in applying for local and international scholarships, and occasionally assisting Somali kids in writing essays.

During my undergraduate education, I did the following: -I participated in debate clubs at my institution in 2010.

– The following year, 2011-2012, I was hired as a Computer Coach at Darul-cilmi Computer Institute. My team completed the academic year’s finals on time. Following my graduation from Somalia’s Simad University in 2013 and my outstanding leadership in training and competition. Based on my achievements, I was appointed deputy director at salaam internet cafe, where I oversaw roughly 10 employees.

To summarize,

I was in charge of hundreds of people under my supervision at Salaam internet cafe, Bilan Printing and Design, and extra-curricular activities in the community. I want to broaden the reach of my networking, influence, and leadership. I want to grow as well, which is why I want to move to the United Kingdom to pursue my master’s degree and learn more. When I return, I hope to be able to contribute to my country.

Relationship-building and collaborative learning

In 2005, I began honing my networking abilities at our community center.Since then, I’ve built many networks on various platforms, including community council, school, university, and social organization competitions in which I’ve participated, part-time work/full-time work, current volunteer activities, societies, and my current professional work at Salaam internet cafe, Bilan Printing and Design. At Salaam internet cafe, my networks included contacts with employees, customers, management, and other group partners. My networks at Bilan Printing and Design included collaborations with design firms, linking business businesses to create advertising items, assisting users with Microsoft office programs, and listening to staff to address problems.

I was a member of the IT club, the speaking club, and the Somali Language and Literature Club in college. Each individual have a unique facility. I attended numerous IT conferences, language competitions, debates, and public speaking contests.

With the assistance of this network’s operations, I worked closely with many other social, humanitarian, and human rights organizations as a social activist.

In my professional life, I maintain a professional, courteous, and polite connection and networking atmosphere with all employees and colleagues at Salaam internet cafe, Bilan Printing and Design

I believe I have a big network that has helped me achieve my goals in my professional career and via volunteer work at my social organization. I’ve gained enough experience to contribute to the Chevening community and join this group to learn more and grow my network. My network will help the Chevening community help young people in Somalia and the surrounding region.

I started working and thinking about my field as an IT technician. From 2013 through 2018, my primary focus as an IT technician was executing computer diagnostics to explore and resolve problems, providing technical assistance, and performing data recovery. -College London is my first choice.

-Cyber security is the name of the course.

Studying the following courses at Aberdeen University will prepare me for practical work, critical thinking, and comprehending both the practical and theoretical aspects of international business.

London University is my second choice.

-My third option is a low-income school in London.

This university is my third pick because of the diversity of classes available in international al low. Because I work with multinational clients on a daily basis and studied information technology throughout my bachelor’s degree at Simad University, completing these information security modules would allow me to be a pioneer in my country.

Conclusion,

Future: studying the aforementioned, such as information security and cyber security courses, would enable me to become an expert and work as the minister of telecommunications in my nation.

I am certain that public service is the perfect career for me, which is why I worked in this field.

Chevening is looking for people with a definite post-study career goal. Please describe your immediate plans for returning home as well as your long-term career aspirations. You might want to think about how these connect to what the British government is doing in your country. (Minimum word count: 100; maximum word count: 500)

The United Kingdom government is donating millions of pounds to boost youth education in Somalia. One of the projects in which I participated was the youth education program. As an IT Technician at Real Primary and Secondary School, I was in charge of implementing, administering, organizing, and preparing correctly assigned courses and lectures in order to conduct classes on time. For the past two years, I have been working with Real Primary and Secondary School projects, and I have been putting plans into action, including the process of monitoring progress, making adjustments, and analyzing impact.

I have been executing my obligations in an efficient and timely manner; however, I have encountered numerous problems, the most significant of which is a lack of strategic management abilities, which is a critical skill in the successful implementation of a project.Despite the fact that I have been attempting to address this issue utilizing my academic knowledge and practical experiences, I still believe that my existing education and understanding are insufficient. As a result, I intend to get a postgraduate degree in information security in order to enhance my management skills in managing information security initiatives.

Academically, my objectives have always been tailored to meet the demands of both my country and my personal interests. After graduation, my initial (short-term) objective is to return to my prior workplace in a better position as an information security specialist and work efficiently to handle information security initiatives. This is because I see a high demand for such knowledge in my previous employer, the Somali government, the private sector, and the international sector.

My long-term ambition is to direct and manage infrastructure and information technology projects for the Somali government. The main reason is that I discovered in the last several years that there is a huge lack of experience in the field of managing I T infrastructure projects in Somalia. For example, I have witnessed many projects that should have been completed in an efficient and cost-effective manner but were not. Many international businesses had the ability but did not properly implement projects, instead duping the Somali government and taking advantage of the lack of professionals to evaluate their works and performance. The problem is primarily caused by Somali officials’ lack of information.

Chevening scholarship program is one of the greatest and best scholarship providers in the world, in my opinion. I feel it provides me with the opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies in the UK and realize my aim of becoming an expert in “information security” in order to work for the UK’s public policy in Somalia. I will also be able to address a knowledge gap in my home nation. My aspirations include not only studying for a Master’s degree, but also exchanging cultures between Somalia and the United Kingdom.

As a result, I will participate in introducing Somali culture to my fellow UK citizens and, in turn, introduce UK culture to my people. If I am fortunate enough to be awarded this very competitive scholarship, I am devoted to studying hard and returning to Somalia after graduation. I will also actively contribute in sharing my expertise and experience earned in the United Kingdom.
